Google's primary purpose is to gather and market user data. However, it must grant you access to that data and the resources you need to handle it. Here are the steps to review, modify, and disable the ad targeting information that Google has on you.
The Quick Recap
1. Open Google Ad Settings first
2. Turn off personalization of ads
3. Press "Turn off"
4. Press Got it?
5. An alternative is to stop exchanging ad data with third parties.
6. Press Exclude.
7. An alternative is to delete irrelevant ad interests.
8. Select a passion
9. Click "Off"
Step 1
Open Google Ad Settings
Visit https://adssettings.google.com; you may need to sign in with your Gmail username and password and Android phone credentials. Your ad profile, which Google uses to deliver ads that are customized to your interests and are more profitable for Google as a company for whom ad sales are a primary revenue stream, is displayed by
Step 2
Disable Ad personalisation
Click the switch next to "Ad personalization is ON" if you don't want to see any personalized adverts at all and, more significantly, if you don't want Google to collect your data to be used in an ad profile.
Step 3
Click Turn off
Step 4
Click Got it
A pop-up message stating "Ad personalization is OFF" will take its place. By selecting "Got it," Google will no longer remember fresh, individualized information about you, use it to show you tailored advertisements, or share it with outside partners. However, the interests that were previously registered for you will be reactivated if you enable ad personalization again.
Step 5
Alternatively: Disable third-party ad data sharing
Leave that button alone if you don't mind Google utilizing your data but don't want it shared with outside parties. Instead, select the Advanced tab below, then check the box next to "Also use your activity and information from Google services to personalize advertisements on websites and applications that partner with Google to serve ads," as shown below. is not marked
Step 6
Click Exclude
You will receive a pop-up informing you that Google will no longer save information from your ad profile or share it with its third-party partners. To proceed with this, click Exclude.
Step 7
Alternatively: Remove unwanted ad interests
To see the businesses, goods, demographic information, and interest categories that Google lists for you under the "How your advertisements are personalised" section, scroll down if you simply want Google to give you ads about items you genuinely care about. Typically, this list will be lengthy. Despite how intrusive it may seem, it can be amusing to view the marketing-oriented image of you that Google has created, and it can be useful to have Google's ad engines display items that you might genuinely be interested in. It's simple to disable undesirable categories if you just want to optimize this so that you see more relevant products.
Step 8
Click on an interest
Select an interest from the list. I'm giving up MLM & Business Opportunities because Multi-Level Marketing is the one MLM can stand for that I find particularly repugnant.
Step 9
Click Turn off
The interest item's pop-up window will appear. To disable the interest and remove it from your ad profile, click "Turn off." A small grey bar will then appear at the bottom left of the page to let you know that your settings have been modified after the pop-up has closed.
